@@Chroniclechamber I don't know how that would affect the existence of 1911 pistols; I don't mean that rhetorically, I just literally don't know, but even in the cartoon the Phantom was pretty different from what he is in the comic strip.

Guess time will tell if it’s explained in the comic book series or not. From memory the Dynamite Entertainment series, technology was crippled by Ming.

@@ThePokerfella Thats the stuff. I knew they must have had a youtube trailer somewhere. I kept only finding one from a channel called "the phantom" but that upload has its quality capped at 360p, so no way it was the official one.

@@Chroniclechamber As a professional artist with a fairly big collection of comics, I'm practicaly obligated to read 'em. ;) Also, my fellow artist from Serbia, Bane Kerac (maybe you know him as H.M.Baker when he drew Ghost for Dark Horse), a few years ago worked on a Phantom story for the Scandinavians, so you will probably come across some Phantom art from around here soon. We had many editions with the Phantom, it's not easy to collect 'em all, but for the most part it's not expensive. And yes, he was mostly painted red. ;) If you need more informations on King Features in Serbia feel free to ask. Cheers and keep up the good work!

@@Chroniclechamber Great interview, Bane was a great influence on us younger artists, Cat Claw was the first Marvel/DC style superhero comic done right in Yugoslavia, but he also changed the whole approach to storytelling in our comics with his pages in Kobra, specifically in Hell's Angel episode.

Just remember that while some of the Phantom villains compared to the Marvel and DC universe are not as exciting but the Phantom is not in the superhuman universe. He is based in a universe as real as what we live in - when was the last time you saw a meta human? About fighting against villains with enhanced natural abilities like martial arts, military skills, powerful weapons etc I would suggest stories featuring bad guys like Lubanga, General Bababu, Manuel Ortega, The Nomad and The Python. At stages they all wreck havoc on the Phantom and in some stages even defeated him in various fights. @@Chroniclechamber Readers are free to think what they like, of course, but it's okay with me if some have been properly disillusioned about the 1953 tale that never happened. To be freed of one's illusions and suddenly see things as they are, this is a good thing. 🙂 About the story seeming like one story morphing into another, some of that is inherent in the nature of a narrative that takes place in 24 hours. Not that this is exactly Mrs. Dalloway or Ulysses, you understand, but a day in the life of the Phantom is bound to start here and go there. He doesn't know where it's going. But he'll know it when he gets there.
